PROJECT SUMMARY
Raleigh Ironworks is a 19-acre mixed use campus centered around two historic buildings that were a former steel mill and warehouse for the Peden Steel Company. The site was transformed into a vibrant community space for local retailers and residents and includes office, retail and residential. The amenity spaces include a pavilion deck, pedestrian promenades, outdoor eatery spaces, an interactive plaza with a slide, micro gathering spaces, and an interior courtyard inside the Double Gable building. The material palette was carefully selected to amplify the history of the site, with site elements of weathered steel and wood and industrial graphics throughout the campus. Emily worked as a landscape architect at Stewart with the design team to oversee the construction of the landscape architectural design.
